Freedom & Love: The Ner Shalom Community Seder

ABOUT ABOUT

Led by Reb Irwin Keller and Chantleader Atzilah Solot.

Passover has two traditional texts: the story of slavery and exodus from Egypt, and Song of Songs – our ancient book of love poetry. This year we will weave the two together. What was our ancestors’ journey to freedom? What are today’s journeys to freedom? And how can our love and Divine love pour through that journey? Together, using storytelling, song and symbolic food, we will revive our senses of love and freedom, and commit ourselves to bringing those into the world.

This year's Seder meal, vegetarian and fish, will include kitniyot – rice and legumes. (This is the practice of Sephardic communities, and recently became the official practice of the Conservative Movement.) If it is your practice to abstain from rice and legumes on Passover, just let us know and we will have a traditional Ashkenazic-style meal available for you.

Please consider making a contribution to "Elijah's Plate" when you buy your ticket, to help make it possible for those who cannot afford it to participate.

Of all the great things we do at Ner Shalom, this is one of the greatest. We can't wait to see you there.

Note: Ticket sales close at 5PM on Thursday, April 18, because of our cutoff with the caterer. No tickets will be available at the door.
