ABOUT ABOUT

The Ner Shalom Nitzanim Program is a rich and exciting offering for young people, K-8, and their families. It is an opportunity for the whole family to deepen in Jewish experience and learning through song, prayer, nature, art, story, movement, text and discussion. Together our young people will blossom and draw sustenance from Judaism’s deep, deep roots.

In this session, "Hineini – Who Am I?" we will begin the exploration of self that is traditional as we lead into the Jewish new year. With story, text, song – and scavenger hunt! – in this beautiful park, our young people will ask the question, "what makes me me?"

Meanwhile, parents will gather with Reb Irwin to talk about "hineini", which literally means "I am here." This key Hebrew word can be seen as an invitation to radical presence. In particular, as our family lives unfold, what does it mean for us to be radically present for each other (particularly in multi-faith families)?

Register for just this session, or choose substantially discounted packages of 6 or 12 sessions. If you would like this option but need to pay in installments, email us at [email protected].

In the second half of the year, we will be collaborating with the B'Hootz Program of the Wilderness Torah Center for Earth-Based Judaism. The list price for participation in B'Hootz is $800 per child. However, Nitzanim families who purchase a Season Subscription or a Six-Pack, are eligible for the price of $600 – a 25% discount! If that is still prohibitive, Wilderness Torah has significant scholarships available. Just ask us!
