Celebrated Jewish dance master, Bruce Bierman, will lead our steps and the remarkable San Francisco Yiddish Combo (SFYC ) will fill the air with exuberant, soulful klezmer melodies.
Bruce Bierman is a teaching artist and award-winning theater director in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. He directed and choreographed the critically acclaimed musical, 'The Megilleh of Itzik Manger' for the Jewish Music Festival of Berkeley. Most recently he completed a groundbreaking video adaptation of Sholem Asch's 'God of Vengeance' which won the 20'-21' Certificate of Commendation from the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards. Comprising classically trained musicians who enjoy stretching musical boundaries, the SFYC is led by cellist Rebecca Roudman who has fronted groups all over the world bringing her virtuosic and fiery playing to stages from China to Iceland and beyond.
